 What is involved in a treatment?

  A treatment typically involves;

*    Case history – this is taken in the first visit.  I shall ask you various questions about your horse, such as health, injuries, appetite, work, etc.  This helps to give me some background information – a way of getting a ‘whole’ picture of your horse.

*    The treatment – next is the treatment which will last anything up to 50 minutes (depending on what work is needed).  There is no equipment needed to carry out shiatsu, all I ask is that there is some peace and quiet to allow as little interruption as possible during the treatment, and some space in which to work around your horse.

*   Continuing the good work – following the treatment I often show the owner some relevant techniques to perform on their horse.  These are easy and safe to perform and help to continue the good work between treatments.

*   Resting your horse – now that your horse has had a treatment, the next thing to do is to give them the rest of the day off.  This allows them to become accustomed to the changes they will be feeling in their body.
